Leigh feels that the Okanagan, with its diverse ecology, provides a unique and stimulating setting for her creativity.
Leigh's interest in photography began while she was given a second hand camera as a child. Several years and many cameras later she is more passionate about photography than ever. Since then she has earned a Bachlor of Arts in English Literature and Fine Arts from Trent University and a Bachelor of Education from Queens's University. For several years she worked as a high school english teacher in Winnnipeg and Calgary. Leigh then moved into a position with the goverment of Manitoba where she worked in the Department of Labour and Immigration as a Program and Policy Officer and Assessor.
Upon moving to the Okanagan, Leigh gave up her desk job and immersed herself in photography. Leigh feels that the Okanagan, with its diverse ecology, provides a unique and stimulating setting for her creativity. Leigh loves to be outdoors gardening, canoeing, hiking and of course, taking pictures. She currently resides just outside of Penticton with her husband and son.
Leigh has explored many different techniques and now workd extenisvely with long exporsures, macro selective focus and in high dymanic range photography.
Leigh has shown in galleries in both Canada and the United States. Recently she showed her work at the Washington Trade and Convention Centre in Seattle. She was fortunate to sell out of her work at that show and proceeds raised were donated to Neurology research.
