Some of the wood from the old Naramata train Dock was salvaged and has been transformed into the beautiful; arched doorways that lead into the wine shop. Sunlight pours through oversized windows from many angles and as the light changes throughout the day the architectural details of this building are individually highlighted. Everything comes together to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, a place where red rooster’s guests now have plenty of room to linger. The large covered patio invites visitors to spill out onto the adjacent grounds, and drink among the beautiful scenery. The new facility has been designed to accommodate such functions as weddings, banquets, or festivals. The upper loft is also available for smaller functions.

The Mahrer’s are very supportive of the South Okanagan arts community. All proceeds from their second annual Bohemian Festival, scheduled for Saturday, August 7th, 2004 will once again be donated to the local schools, to help foster creativity in children. The winery’s new gift shop has expanded to accommodate a variety of unique treasures, many of which have been crafted by local artisans. Especially impressive are the paintings of three Naramata women: Jennifer Garant, Janis Blyth, and Wendy Hamlim. For more Information on our featured artists click here

Last years very successfully launched “ADOPT A ROW” club has found its place on the new site too. Some of its members (close to a hundred by now) recently moved their name plaques from the old to the new winery during the spring event held in March. And so, the journey continues. The Mahrer’s and their friendly staff cannot wait to show off their new winery, and they have a calendar of exciting events planned. See the events page for a full list of upcoming events.
