ABOUT THE WINE
Picked over several days in October, our Chardonnay was whole cluster pressed to extract a clean, pure fruit expression. For added depth of flavour and complexity a small portion of the wine was exposed to American oak. To further enhance the mouth-feel the wine was also aged Sur Lie. To preserve the acidity, malolactic fermentation was not encouraged.
Showing great pride within the flock. Bright lemon yellow colour with a clean, fresh aroma of apple, pear, yellow plum and white peach. This light to medium-bodied Chardonnay is a refreshing fruit-forward style, showing plenty of apple, pineapple, yellow plum and honeydew melon flavours. Refreshing notes of lemon, green apple and white peach are accented by a delicate touch of oak on the finish. Drink while young and fresh.
Serve with roasted lemon chicken; turkey with creamy aioli on crusty rolls; coconut shrimp skewers; crab or lobster salads; crab cakes with mayo dipping sauce; pan-fried fish fillets; spring pea and salmon risotto; salmon, lemon, dill crepes.
