Reserve Gewurztraminer 2010

ABOUT THE WINE

About 95% of the blend was picked from North Oliver Vineyard on October 11th, and the remainder was picked from Krieger Vineyard in Summerland. Our Gewurztraminer Reserve was whole cluster pressed to extract clean, pure aromas and flavours, and cool fermented in stainless steel. Limited production of 294 cases.

TASTING NOTES

This Queen hen really knows how to stand out and flock with aromas of spring blossoms, ripe melon, lychee fruit and Bartlett pear.Dry and medium-bodied, the wine moderates acidity and flavours of grapefruit, green pear and citrus. Notes of almond and lemon linger on the slightly oily finish. Drink while young and fresh.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Serve with take-out chinese food, clove studded baked ham with spiced apple sauce, caramelized onion and Gruyere tarts, a lightly spiced chicken stir-fry, and a cheese board with Bergeron "Le Coureur des bois" (Gouda with cumin seeds) from Quebec and Munster with water crackers..
