Reserve Malbec 2009
ABOUT THE WINE
We source the grapes for our Malbec from our on-site estate vineyard. Primary fermentation was done in open top fermenters and hand-plunged to break surface cap twice daily, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in new American and French oak barrels for 10 months. Limited production of 191 cases.
TASTING NOTES
This rare Canadian rooster is attracting plenty of attention. The alluring bouquet of Damson plum, black licorice, soft oak, black pepper and tar draws you in closer. This full-bodied wine has sweet ripe tannins and flavours of fig, blueberry, plum, black cherry, black tea and beet root. The long lingering finish exhibits notes of sweet prune, raisin, cherry and spice. Enjoy now through 2013.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent with rich and flavourful foods such as grilled portabella mushrooms with balsamic drizzle, beef empanadas, winter stews, marinated leg of lamb, and braised meats.
