ABOUT THE WINE

Hand picked from the Krieger Vineyard in Summerland and Hidden Terrace in North Oliver. "We hand selected the lot from Hodden Terrace site for this wine, and blended it with some of the Krieger site to add some diversity, as the Summerland fruit had some zippy characters that I wanted to bring to this blend" says Winemaker Karen Gillis. OUr Pinot Gris Reserve was whole cluster pressed to extract aroma and flavour components and coll fermented in stainless steel. Limited production of  374 cases.

TASTING NOTES

This reserve bottling of Pinot Gris really 'struts its stuff' with a unique aroma of ripe melon, tropical fruit and almond paste. A medium-bodied, slightly rich wine with a fleshly mouth feel and flavours of tropical fruit, kiwi, tangerines, ripe apple and melon. Zippy notes of tangerine and orange linger on the finish. Drink now through 2013.

FOOD PAIRINGS

A terrific Pinot Gris that is right at home with slightly rich food items.Serve crab cakes, sautéed scallops in light cream sauce, pork tenderloin in a brandy cream sauce, linguini with shrimp in a garlic cream sauce.
